Dave Meyer is a member of the class of 2012 at CMC from Chicago, Illinois. He is pursuing a degree in Philosophy, Politics, and Economics. During his time at the Rose, he has worked in a variety of areas, but has generally focused on GIS and redistricting analysis. He is the co-author of a major redistricting analysis, Redistricting in America. As the Rose Institute takes its mapping online, Dave has worked to make the Rose's GIS work simpler, easier, and more accessible to the public. During the (meager) time he spends outside of the Rose, Dave writes for the CMC Forum as its Senior Technology Writer.
Chloe Cotton is a senior from Anchorage, Alaska. She is majoring in Philosophy, Politics and Economics with a dual major in Government. During her time with the Rose, Chloe has worked on a variety of projects, including the Rose Report blog, the Rose Review, and the Inland Empire Outlook. She was also a Girard Scholar with the Institute over the summer of 2009. This year, Chloe is the Editor of the Rose Report. Chloe is also the manager of the Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Athenas tennis team and a member of CMC’s student-run theatre group, Under the Lights.
Aditya Pai is a CMC junior from Irvine, CA majoring in Philosophy,
Politics, and Economics (PPE). He serves as Associate Manager of the Kosmont-Rose Survey and Institutional Development Manager at the Rose Institute of State and Local Government, and serves as student body Vice-President of ASCMC. Last summer he worked at the Rose Institute on a San Diego demographics project and studied web technology; this summer he hopes to do something fun Sacramento or D.C. He wants to work in high tech or government after graduation and loves playing basketball (poorly) and guitar (even more poorly) in his free time.
Rishabh Parekh is a local Southern California resident hoping to complete an MA in Finance and a BA in Economics in his final year at CMC. During his time at the Rose, Rishabh has drawn upon his interest in economics and data crunching to work on and manage the Kosmont Cost of Doing Business Survey and the Wheeler’s Desert Letter. Outside his work at the Rose, Rishabh is involved with dorm life on campus as a Residential Assistant, and after graduation hopes to work in business strategy consulting or equity research.
Daniel Shane comes to the Rose Institute from Irvine, California. His research focuses primarily on redistricting, where he has been working on publishing Rose Institute research on interactive maps. He also writes for the Rose Report blog. This past summer, Shane worked at the Rose Institute on a Demographic Analysis of San Diego, in which he analyzed changes in the San Diego population along racial and ethnic lines and their impact on the voting tendencies of the city since 1970.
